The DH98 Mosquito is one of the few if not only aircraft I know of where the prototype aircraft survives at Salisbury Hall at London Colney in Hertfordshire. And what's more it/they come with a pedigree and a half as Salisbury Hall was one time home pre war to some Herbert called Nigel Gresley ! It was most tradgic that the British Aerospace machine crashed killing the crew back in 1996.

Very sad I saw it flying at the North Weald Airshow earlier that year.

Mosquito KA114 is now flying in New Zealand but will soon move to the Jerry Yagen's museum in the USA.

As I have hinted before, I am heavily involved in a project to see a Mosquito flying in the UK again - all being well timescale is 3-4 years!

It'll be lovely to se NX611 flying - and there's another one (possibly two) in Canada that might be up in a year or two. Five airworthy lancasters....... I think the thing I'd like to see flying the most though is a Wellie

Also on the 'flying' front, the Shack at Coventry (WR963) will soon be doing full four engine fast taxi runs. She's a tail dragger MR2, so her tail would be in the air at least. Her main spar is too knackered for flight though

Haven't seen a proper ME-109 flying, but I have seen the HA-112 (merlin engined ME-109 built under licence by the Spanish) done up in german colours flying.

There is, unfortunately only one complete Hawker Typhoon left (and a replica in France). Kermit Weeks has a Hawker Tempest under restoration in Florida, so that may be the closest we get to a flying Typhoon. He has a lovely MK16 Spitfire tucked away at the back of the maintenance hanger too, which i got limited access to last year

A group are on way to Burma at mo looking for buried Spitfires by the side of the runway at a Airport. Buried at the ned of the war still in crates.

I saw the Duxford Me 109 Black 6 in desert colours flying before it was crashed during a landing , a common problem during the war with them too.

Dream planes FW190, FW 190D9 & ME262.

Yep, I'm into aircraft as well. I'm only really interested in combat aircraft of WW2 and the early cold war, but I like tiger moths etc also. I've not got much flying experince, but I've been in the odd cockpit here and there and I flew a Boeing Stearman in Florida. Buzzing cows at 150ft - brilliant!

RE the burma Spitfires; I think they've looked for them once before, or at least did a reccie of the site.

There's also that JU88 and (allegedly) two HE117's in a fjord somewhere that various museums are supposedly after

Flying is actually relatively easy. It's certainly easier and more relaxing than driving a car. I don't think i've ever been as happy, comfortable and relaxed in any kind of transport as I was when flying the stearman
