I would have thought that the IP address could be noted, and the company supplying their internet service contacted with a view to banning all access.

Most (but not all) are registered through Jakarta. Currently large swathes of Indonesian IP addresses are banned from registering on the LNER forums.

Interesting the Unoffical NYMR forum have recently been hit by the same outfit first with fitted kitchens in Manchester the a week later ...in Newcastle. In each case the "new" member had registered on the Friday evening/night and then "mailed" their spam at around 4:30 Saturday morning.

Richard actually does a good job in removing spam from here. Spam killed the LMS forum - not much happens there now.
