I had to look twice to see what Mr King meant. A faithful copy from a picture, or a slightly flimsy/vulnerable component?
What do you get when you cut an avocado into 6.022 x10^23 pieces?

Guacamole.

My thought is that it's definitely erring on the side of flimsy, but could also be down to how it was fitted. Will have another look after work later.

Yes - I removed it on my example as it will become a BR branded B17.

So why didn't you buy a BR one to begin with?

I wanted an LNER liveried one to modify for the period I'm modelling (1948-50). Several of the class were painted in the full LNER livery and were given BR numbers and branding at Nationalisation. 61624 Lumley Castle a case in point. As seen in The Power of the B17s and B2s.

Right. That's like the Hobbie Elliott I got from Bachmann but in reverse. It's in LNER green with BR numbers, ready to be renumbered in LNER,

When? When? When is Hornby going to do an A4 in LNER green or even a silver one to modern day standards? We don't all want garter blue, black, BR purple, blue or green.

- Livery of LNER apple green with British Railways number and branding, and in this style (no curly 6s) is correct as per 61624 Lumley Castle.
- GER Tender correct as per 61624 Lumley Castle.
- Intended footballer name with GER tender correct as per 61630 Tottenham Hotspur.
- Westinghouse pump on a footballer correct as per West Ham United.
- Waiting on smokebox numberplate before fitting the replacement nameplates.

61679 a combination, therefore, of three different engines and their specific details, to create a "unique" B17/1 in British Railways branding.

They did, for Silver Link's 75th. I was lucky enough to happen upon one last year for a pinch over £100;
