I'm back!
Ay up!
Been away for a few weeks and this is the first time I have felt like telling anyone without peppering the typing with typos and foul language. I got so bad Monday night, after I thought I had been locked in, that it brought part of the roof down.
Three months ago I was told that there was insifficient work in the motor vehicles workshop (fair comment) and that my role would have to change. I was then told to organise an eBay shop. This I did, doing more in 2 weeks than had happened in 2 years. This may have been my mistake.
When I asked for a bank account, I found out that my bankruptcy was still affecting my ability to have a business bank account and so I asked for help. At this point, my paid contract had 2 months to run.
I was also promised a £500 float to get the business off the ground and that the shop would subsidise my salary.
Fast forward three months - to today, in fact. My contract has ended, so no pay. No benefits either, thanks to Mr Cameron and his benefit "reforms" because Mrs BB working PART TIME FOR MINUMUM WAGE puts us over the threshold at which I can get anything there. I finally have the bank account after a visit by a very attractive young lady who has set everything up. But, in the meantime, the float dropped to £25 (spent on new software) and the subsidy became my salary.
Lovely. Cue black depression.
OK, I now have an A0 plotter and scanner to play with but the scanner won't talk to the on-board computer and the printer won't talk to anything AND the computer is password protected. I got past them for a "user" account but I can't hack into the "administrator" accounts. Hence the new software. The car's tax runs out in December but I do at least have somewhere under cover to work on her now. And, believe me, after the last few months I will take every advantage I can of this.
I have no loyalty left for the company (no names, no pack drill) but will do simply what I want to , as a avolunteer. And if it's in the scrap trailer and I reckon I can make it work, I'll have it. Like the practice amp I rescued last week! And a VCR (needed heads cleaning). And a DVD (same problem). The microwave may well work but has new life evolving in the primordial soup within.....
Still depressed about this (I suffer from clinical bi-polar symdrome) but slowly digging meself out.

If the cars tax is a problem BB , get rid and get some thing pre 1970 and gain the free road tax , or better still like me pre 1960 and reep MOT exempt as well , failing that open the wallet

That is very sad news BB. I hope you can sort it out very soon.
It does sound a very dire situation. Sadly that Cameron chap seems to be doing all he can to wreck the lives of hard working souls such as yourself, but it seems strange how idle so-and-so's can seem to have all manner of benefits, even if they have just arrived from some other country and don't speak a word of English (I will leave it there or I go into rant mode).
There will always be a market for "reconditioned electrical goods" especially in this kind of recession. So maybe that could be your way out. I do hope so.
Your poor wallet must be almost destitute, and although it was a rather impatient sort, it doesn't deserve this.
With all my best wishes
John.

Re: I'm back!
Hello BB
Didn't know you'd gone, although, looking back over a couple of weeks it has been a bit quiet.
You have my sympathy regarding all of the other problems - cheer up there's always someone worse off than you, although I don't know where he lives. Re the political point I would recommend that you find a parliamentary seat that needs an MP, you wouldn't go short then!! If all else fails become a banker, you should be OK now you've got the account!!
In other words, mate, I can't come up with a solution, or advice, other than to keep smiling. Then people will say "What's that stupid B got to smile about?" and that'll keep them occupied all day trying to work it out.
Chin up

Ay up!
You've managed to put a smile on me furry fisog, not that Mrs BB noticed with the beard!
Thanks for that.
See if I can get back to the P2 tomorrow!
Hmm. Summat pre 1973? A Triumph Dolomite perhaps?
Fifi won't be pleased. At all!

Glad your back BB, may your chips never be bitless.

Re: I'm back!
Hi Mate,
I was getting quite concerned, to the extent of insisting you provide a “note” for your absence.
It’s great to hear from you.
Regard
Steve

Re: I'm back!
Good to hear from you, I was wondering if I should be scanning the list of arrests/charges for the name of a certain wallet...
The sad thing is, your recent work experiences sound so familiar. There's been a lot of people been 'messed about' one way or another and too many who think they can get away with treating other people badly. And then they wonder why no-one will work for them/vote for them/go the extra mile.
Never mind, if you discover new life forms lurking in dark recesses, perhaps they'll name a species or two after you? Or, in those immortal words of the New York taxi driver, "I'd rather havva de cash!"
PP's got a good plan there, nothing but nothing irritates one's enemies/bosses/competitors more than looking cheerful.

G'Day Gents
I was beginning to wonder where you'd gone, a holiday in Wales, perhaps, but even BB, wouldn't want to go there in the rain, (I did every summer, for years !) So I'm glad your back, depression, is a miserable thing, You, don't even know you've got it.
Secretly, we all thought 'The Wallet' had done a 'runner', and you were off chasing it, Huddersfield, is so cheery in November

Would have missed your enlightening posts. And I'm intrigued with the mention of Mrs BB's beard. Presumably a facial defence against a snappy wallet? Or is it, perhaps, a contributing factor to the snappy wallet?
Anyroadup, had you thought of putting them both in the circus ring, or even on I'm a Celebrity ...etc.? Either should bring in a nice little income, and surely they're both now (in)famous enough to qualify for the latter?
All the very best.

Re: I'm back!
What a brilliant idea:-
"I'm A Modeller, Get Me Out Of Here".
Finescale modellers would have to do all manner of activities ( add the 'bits' pack to a RTR steam loco, lay ready made insulfrog pointwork to 16.5mm gauge, operate a layout with only 1st radius curves, run a Lord Of The Isles locomotive at the head of two Mk3 buffets and a GWR syphon, etc) while in a small room full of spiders, snakes or cockroaches.
Only by shouting the phrase above can they stop the various trials.

Re: I'm back!
Oh BB, so sorry to hear about your troubles....
no real answers, I'm afraid, but plenty of sympathy !!
However, I would agree with the advice to keep smiling, if only to confuse "the enemy" and make them wonder just what you have been up to - or maybe what you know.
Hope you'll get some bits on yer chips.......by special request, perhaps.

Thanks for the kind words. Just to put the record straight, it is me that has the furry fisog, not Mrs BB!
Looking forward to the New Year! I'm going to raise more hell than a turd in a wedding punchbowl!

Re: I'm back!
Ay up!
Things keep getting worse.
My secondary source of income became my only source recently - repairs for the local model railway shop. After going in for a few weeks with nothing to show for it, I asked the proprietor to let me know. Silence meant, I presumed, no work.
When I contacted her today I was told that because I hadn't been in for a while, she'd got someone else to do 'em.
It's beginning to look as though I can define a Friend as "Someone who turns on me." Seemingly agreements mean nothing if they're made with me.
I'll be back. Seems like my only friends are on here now....
