A tough looking engine
Some railway modellers dream, garnered from a railway correspondent
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!

Looks good to me! Although personally I don't think there's much uglier than a Standard 4 2-6-4T

Yes and, given the bunker capacity, would require a visit to the coaling stage every half hour.JeffB wrote:I like it, be a bit heavy on coal though I think.

Might give "Big Bertha" a run for her money up Lickey......since we are not in the real world staying on network is not vital.....
seriously, there's not enough bunker space - although I suppose you could oil-fire it, and share the side tanks between water and oil (like the Ffestiniog did with the 1979 built Double Fairlie "Earl of Merioneth") which would avoid frequent visits for coaling!
Maybe I like It?? really Not sure.

Lots of axles to spread the weight.
Bit of flex in the centre drivers and no problem.

Re: A tough looking engine
Ay up!
I wonder if that could be based on an 8F using Fairburn tanks and bunker?
