That is amazing. I still find myself unable to believe that film is almost 100 years old.

It shows how rapidly things get done with a mass of manpower and strict organisation.

Fantastic bit of film, thanks for the link. Interesting fact, the internal combustion locos were often used on sections of track that were near the front as the exhaust of the steam locos attracted unwanted german attention.....

I note our French allies refer to a Baldwin 0-6-0 as an 0-3-0 counting axles al a continent.

In the French footage, it was interesting to see the Pechot-Bourdon locos - a French version of the Double Fairlie.

But it looks like water supplies being runout by barrel

I dont think its got any rails, I think it looks like wire on top of posts. Very odd!

Following the Armistice am i correct the railways were used for re building the war torn areas.
Read somewhere they built lines all the way to Germany.
