A O4/8 started following Graeme's excellent design. Just needs final clean up, next step priming then adding numerous rivets to Boiler and Cab areas.On seeing the photos I have now removed a bit more from the front of the Boiler saddle and tweaked the handrail.

Looking really good Mick. Don't know what I'd do without Archers rivets now; but I don't think I'd have the patience for your very careful application on your O4.

Very nice Mick, you would have thought welding would have been a lot quicker that riveting loco's together, and so much easier for us to !!! :lol:

They make the job much easier.

I have learnt dont touch once postioned and prime over asap after drying as very poor adhesion ( on primer base) !!

The horseboxes look excellent.

Should the ends be black though? Like non-vestibule stock after 1925.

Were the ends of horseboxes painted 'teak' before 1925?

This has come up before, as far as I am aware Teak all round, as were CCT's too.

My mistake, when I looked back through the threads, I remembered the posts.

There is an excellent clear picture of an ex-GNR CCT in Modellers' Backtrack Vol.1 No. 4.

Did you make the handwheel, Mick? Someone does an etched one, but I can't remember who now.

You can purchase the etched handwheel from Alan Gibson, together with WM castings for the scoop operating mechanism and associated tank filler (O4s from Bachmann RODs).
