The last steam hauled passenger train out of Enfield Town

Post by locojoe »

The last steam hauled passenger train out of Enfield Town.
An old driver I worked with occasionally at Enfield Town was Laurie Griffin now aged 87. Laurie drove the last N7 steam hauled passenger train out of Enfield Town in Nov 1960 with Stratford Shedmaster Dick Hardy riding on the footplate.

Enfield Town driver Laurie Griffen now aged 87 was a passed fireman when I first fired to him in the mid 1950s. Enfield Town shed had quite a few passed firemen who were driving most of the time. The passed firemens regular drivers had to in many cases to put up with inexperienced passed cleaners.
