The granddad of British diesel traction and a locomotive, so I've been told, that the NRM really wish had been saved for the national collection. Irrespective of our love of steam traction (but remember someone saying 'there's no romance at all in disposing of eight engines on a wet and cold night, none at all') this is so redolent of a bygone age. Great stuff

Neat film, thanks for sharing. I always found the diesel prototypes interesting, from the 'Ivatt Twins' to the Class 08 predecessors.

Nice footage of 6256, too. :mrgreen:

Being of NBR/NER persuasion i was suprised how much i enjoyed the film and have played it a couple of times.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Oddly enough, I find their 'faces' resemble grizzly bears. Isn't the Bachmann model supposed to be out now?
