Subject says it all.

Excellent article in this months issue. With excellent photos of the Coach sets with beautiful A4's and one with a A3 in front.

Is this just the West Riding Ltd or do they cover other trains like the White Rose or the Yorkshire Pullman?

Steam Days is a monthly magazine covering all aspects of UK steam mainly.
The West Riding is a article therein. I forgot it also covers post war running behind Peppercorn A1's and its demise in the 1960's finishing behind Deltics.

Most of the photos in the article have appeared previously but it's good to see them drawn together in the article. The pair of N2s on the Bradford-Leeds leg is a rate shot, though it was in the Yeadon book.

The photo of 60113 on the train with two Gresley vehicles at the front of the formation is I think slightly miscaptioned. It's not certain but I suspect that the photo was taken soon after the Huntingdon fire. The two Gresley vehicles on the front are not extras, rather what should be the leading BTO-TO ex-streamlined twin is missing. There are then two further twins - a Twin-FO and an RTO-TO. At the time of the Huntingdon fire the regular BTO-TO was out of service and another was substituting. This was the one that caught fire (1737/1738). The fire then spread to the Twin-FO (11115/11116), which was also destroyed. What I think we are looking at is a spare Twin-FO (most likely 1713/1714) and two replacements from ordinary stock for the BTO-TO twin. The replacements are a Gresley 4-compartment brake third with doors to each compartment and an open third, both in teak finish.

The shot of 60106 on 19/8/55 shows the formation after the Twin-FO had been replaced by a post-war FO. This was reflected in the carriage workings. The remaining three Twin-FOs were all on the ex-GC at the time, though they found their way back to the East Coast for the Talisman from 1956.

The apparently rather late departure from Bradford is explained by the suggestion that many Bradford businessmen lived in Morecambe and were using the 'Morecambe Residential', which was new on me. The article does not explain how they got back to Morecame.
