Glasgow V1s and V3s
Upholders of the North Clydeside suburban services till the advent of the Blue Trains in 1960. Some memories here.

Accident report for 2902 can be seen at http://www.railwaysarchive.co.uk/docume ... in1933.pdf
The V1s and V3s were among my favourite engines in the Edinburgh area. Pure Gresley sound, good acceleration and very happy with 5 suburban coaches at speed on a North Berwick train rattling past passing Inveresk bunket first! Pity one wasn't saved for preservation, it would be an ideal loco on a heritage railway.

Thanks for the link to the accident. Interesting indeed!!! Wonder if the Southern and GW sued for loss of their wagons....
