Sad news from the Tanfield, apparently a problem with Y7 985 but it will still be in steam and operating in Marley Hill yard. I'll be there on saturday as at very short notice i'm up in the North East (Darlington today for an hour, York all day tomorrow and Tanfield/Beamish on saturday then back down south), is anyone else going to the Tanfield gala?

i was at beamish on friday and overheard part of a conversation why a certian loco was not being used and he was told that one of the tyres was found to be under size by a few mill that they where seeking advice as to whether it could be used.
i am assuming it was the black y7 as it was sidelined on an ajacend line and the armstrong whitworth was being used instead.
