ex-LNER Simplex 15097 at Beamish

Post by Rlangham »

Photos of the 'recreated' ex-LNER Y11 15097 at Beamish today - from what I can gather it's an industrial repainted as a recreation of the original, scrapped in 1950 - aside from that all the facts on the internet seem to conflict, so can anyone fill in the gaps with the history of both this and the real 15097 if it's separate?

There were two locos in this class, one was an ex NBR machine from Kelso later transferred to Ware Hertfordshire im not sure about the other. The NBR machine carried No.1 and replaced a Mk1 shunting horse.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Looking at the name "UBIQUE"
Would it have military connections as that is the motto of the Royal Engineers.
UBIQUE - Everywhere

Or so I was led to believe when serving with them.
