Re: Atlantic's workbench, inc. RTRconversions - now some etc
An interesting mixture of interpretations of the standard paint scheme there Morgan. Not too surprising, and rather convenient / reassuring as I will now find it almost impossible to paint my NE liveried wagon completely wrongly.
After shaping, lining up and gluing those 48 mind-numbing cantilevers, spraying my wagon bodies in the convenient colour of primer, filling up or filing off any revealed major defects, spraying again, making a GC letter stencil (as I hadn't planned ahead regarding transfers), masking the exposed wagon areas and spending ages spraying off-white lightly over the stencil with fanatical care to avoid getting either paint mist or wet paint where it shouldn't be, touching-in buffer heads and vacuum pipes in darker shades of grey, AND making up some coal loads, I'm nearly there - with the two GC liveried wagons at any rate!

Cracking job.
No idea re GCR Liveries? would they had painted the interiors of the wagons?. A drop of rust would make a nice contrast on the inside of the bodies. IMHO.

All ready to a reasonable standard, just in time for Immingham Dock 100 - tomorrow 11am onwards if anybody is interested. Displays also include the surviving full size Grimsby-Immingham GCR tram car, a tram layout, model locos of the GC in various scales and a 10.25" gauge model engineering masterpiece: a B5 Fish Engine. Lots of interesting non-rail stuff too.
Now for a well earned rest ready for tomorrow. Night all!

A cracking display - representative of a good few hours work! Good luck tomorrow.
(Looking at the forecast - typical that you'll be inside just when the weather might remember it's supposed to be summer though!)

A very nice display Graeme. All the best for tomorrow.
Going back to loco conversions you'll be pleased to know that the production etches have arrived. Some will be on the way to you on Monday.
Cheers....Morgan

They look superb Graeme, I am sure they will generate a bit of discussion at the show.

Fantastic Graeme, It's a pity you couldn't have had my 1/4" to the foot model of the Lincoln Castle for the event just to remind those cretanic councillors of the errors of their ways.
I have it on good authority that the G & I Tram is returning to Crich after the event. I think that the powers that be there are aware of the local situation.

Re: Atlantic's workbench, inc. RTRconversions - now some etc
Lincoln Castle would have added a nicely ironic touch to things.
Thanks for the good wishes everybody. All went reasonably well, although the room we were allocated for displays was already like a sauna an hour before public opening and certainly didn't improve as the day progressed. Had I known how closely the public would be able to approach the displays, and had I thought more clearly before the event, which obviously had "whole family" appeal and wasn't just for adult enthusiasts, then I would would have printed myself a couple of extra signs, something like:
PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH
These are delicate, valuable items, not toys. They are
displayed uncovered so that you can SEE them properly!
Still, no actual harm done (just annoyance and alarm) - the odd polite but rather firm remark sufficed........
If I find my few pictures are any good when uploaded and edited I'll post one or two.

A very big fish indeed, a "clickety", and a model inspired by (if memory serves) passing place No 19.
