Just for you Mike a took a pic this morning with some of the tables and chairs placed and with the roof on.

D10C -Yesterday I put the buffers on, started the teak finish with a base of Precision teak base coat P995 to odd panels and given the solebars a 1st coat of Humbrol 62......this one will be different to the D113, I'm hoping for a newer fresher teak finish. From the pics I need to clean up round the windows, and I still have to finish reconnecting the vac pipes when I moved the cyls.

I never knew that the seat protectors, (not sure of the proper name), said "LN & E". That was surely inconsistent with the old "L. & N.E.R"?

I believe some modern 1st class seating still has these today.

Some of the standard class seating should have them as well. It's not all hair gel, or colouring come to that.

Mike - No not double Bxxxxcks I altered them as in the photo to L&NE only, some were correct....I blame the weather (M&S can).

Well 2 lunch times work and the passenger alarm is fitted to one end (I hope now the correct end) I took the dims off drwg 154149D which shows the vac brake communication valve out board of the disc rod cover, but pics also show it inboard as I've done it. That saved cutting up the casting. The rod is 0.033 brass rod flattened at the ends to support the discs with drilled 20thou rod for washers at the ends before the discs and 5thou discs. The 2 parts are threaded through the valve which was drilled 0.04, and glued. Normally up to now I've used 0.5 brass rod, heated the ends to soften and flattened in pliers to form the discs, and filed to shape. I just wondered if I could do a more detailed version.

D10C - Teaking continues, Vallejo Ochre brown applied to assorted panels, then Vallejo Cavalry brown applied again to assorted panels, this will give the darker redder shade of teak when the top coats are applied...I hope. You don't want too neat a finish to these coats as you are trying to get a grain effect by shading, teak from a distance does not really have any grain, so any missed areas/blemishes in the grain direction helps. Window openings have been cleaned up as well.
