My ol' Xantia has an inset instrument board so I popped it there to stop it sliding about, mainly because this started the Wallet growling again.

It's attacked the 47 I bought at Penmorfa!
Are you sure that it has 'attacked' the 47? It may have been trying to impress you by beginning a conversion to BRC&W "Lion" ;)

Ay up!

I'd not thought of that, SS - it has eaten one buffer though. It's now missing and there are many shards of plastic around the place......

Oh, and I've found teeth marks in the dash!

Ay up, all!

I'm feeling rather smug. The sciatica is playing up tonight (again!) so I decided to have a run at the new laptop. I say "new" - a 75 quid 2nd hand one, so I didn't expect much, right? "Not Internet connectable" the chap in the shop said. "The built in wireless card is faulty."

Well.

Despite Yours Truly being a technophobe, our 75 quid laptop is now talking to this Interwebby thing through her inbuilt wireless whatnot so I guess I'm typing by radio?

The Wallet is Not Happy but Mrs BB bought it as a surprise. Guess who's gonna get one tomorrer?

Nighty-night, all......

Nice work Mrs BB. It is always comforting to get one over on the 'expert' in a shop.

My first laptop was second hand because the shop people could not update any software on their demonstrator, so they just sold it off to me as potentially useless (and probably thought I had 'gullible' tattooed on my forehead).

However, I soon discovered that the reason no one could install anything was because someone had originally password protected themselves when they initially registered the machine and it seemed no one knew/could remember the password.

I decided to erase everything, re-format the hard drive and re-install the system software and "hey presto", a fully functioning laptop now happy to accept anything - but for a third of the price of a new one.

Your wallet should be congratulating you both for a quality financial transaction.
John.

Ay up!

Ticket to Ride time for the ol' jalopy again.

The Wallet is lying down in a darkened room, wheezing.

Ay up!

The Wallet had to be refrained several times from assaulting folks in Wolves today. It's Not Happy. At All.

I can hear it gnashing its teeth in the next room!

And who does it think's going to pay for the trip to the dentist? Still, I suppose it's better than using a table leg as a scratching post...

I don't know whether to congratulate 52D on his idea of a distraction or condemn him for being (ir)responsible for many little Yorkshire wallets in a few weeks time...
