LNER Lorry and vehicle livery.

Post by norriemk2 »

I have recently retired and have started modelling diecast vehicles. I would very much like to model some of the LNER and LMS road vehicles. Can anyone help me with information or pictures of the livery used on these vehicles.
Thankyou for reading this posting.

The Vintage Carriage Trust at Ingrow on the Keighley & Worth Valley have a Scammell Mechanical Horse that is usually kept in LNER colours:

Norrie,

I suggest you get hold of a copy of Railway Owned Commercial Vehicles by S. Stevens-Stratten. There may be some info about LNER vehicles there.

You should be able to get a secondhand copy off the net: try Abebooks for example.

If you can find a copy. Try the NORTH EASTERN RECORD VOL 1 originally published by HMRS and the North Eastern Railway Association.

the 'garden railway specialists' (www.gardenrailwayspeciali...nfo/welcome.htm) sell a resin 1937 Fordson van hich is available with fullLNER decals. It looks like a very cool model, if like me you're a 1:43 diecast modeller, then it isnt of much use, but as a stand alone project a 37 ford van, plus LNER decals is quite an intruiging proposition!
