Gradient board numbers.

Post by Bryan »

Can I make an appeal?
If like me you have amassed a collection of odds and ends of railway interest, can I ask "Do you have any LNER pattern Gradient Board numbers, Underscores or Vertical bars in your collection?

If you have and you are willing to part with them we are part way through a replacement programme on the NYMR of the rotten, missing and wrong boards that are along the line.
Currently we have placed 19 new boards out on the lineside but to do more we are running short of numbers and bars.
We could order new but if you have any to spare we can and will make use of them.

The numbers we are needing are basically all but in particular 2,3,5,6,7,8 and 18 inch long underscores.

Thanks.

I used to have a number of cast lead LNER letters and when I made the new nameboards for Warcop signalbox I had a few letters cut out of Perspex by a local signwriting firm. This has the advantage that unlike lead they are worthless to scrap metal thieves.
