Many thanks to Simon Kohler for removing the glass front of Hornby's display cabinet at Railfest to allow me to get these photos:

Ooooooh that B17 looks sublime. Me want! Did you ask Mr Kohler why there had been such a big delay with the B17?
Its good to know where you stand. Saves making a fool of yourself later......

No, I was too polite to ask about the stock flow etc. I did ask about the possibility of a K1 or K4 (the answer of which was 'I'm afraid I can't tell you' ) and wether Mayflower will be appearing soon though :)

Hattons have advised that 2800 will be available from 28th September 2012.

Mind you, a week before they advised it was 10th August, so it slipped 7 weeks in just 1 week!

Don't hold your breath......

Simon Kohler is a real Gent, I can just imaging the reaction of someone else to being asked to remove the glass front from a display case.
Just one point on the semi corridor composite,I take it that the wrong chassis has been used,as the step boards don't line up with the doors. :(
Regards.

Thanks for the Photos of the 01, B17's and Thompsons.
Nice of Simon K to let you take photos with the cabinet open.
They look nice.
Re: "time to save up", When you have the Hornby A4 Commonwealth of Australia, 2x B17's and a NRM Bachmann D11 Butler Henderson all due around the same time means the bank balance gets a big hit all at once. Ouch!

That's not counting the Bachmann J11, Hornby 01 and Thompsons.

Thanks for the pix, 60800.
Regarding the B17/6, "Hey Mister, can we have our ball back?"
The B17's do look brilliant.
Cheers, Peter C.

You're welcome :)

Mr Kohler was more than happy to let me photograph the models, I think he'd been stuck at the Hornby stand since Saturday and had nothing to do. He wasn't on the stand on Thursday so maybe he managed to escape for a bit.

Yes, there's way too much coming out, but I've got myself set on the D11. 'Tis a shame 3717 is still £150..

I've just flicked back though the photos and was thinking 'shouldn't that be out now?' too. At least it gives me time to save up for Sandringham with the hope Hornby does Mayflower next year.

3-4 months ago, not long after I saw a big retailer's suggestion of an August (15th?) release date for the B17, I saw another note somewhere of a further slide into September - or will it slide yet further?

Not sensible to start holding your breath yet - although should you wish to try it is of course your decision.
