Was lounging in bed this morning reading an old copy of Backtrack, when I was convinced that I could hear a Deltic in the distance on the route between Bristol and Weston Super Mare.
Fearing that I might be going a bit weird, I Googled "Deltic railtour", and there it is - 55022 on 1Z55 Birmingham to Penzance trip which left New Street at some unearthly hour and was due to dep. Temple Meads at 0815.
No photos I'm afraid, but she sounded superb and provided me with 5 minutes of Essendine style nostalgia. I hope everyone concerned has a really great day.
