Very poor viewing at the Engine sheds . Luckily the shunter moved so I could take some of SNG. Bittern was hidden at the back on a remote siding , very disapointing 0/5 NYMR :x

Have you copped the Hunt nameplate in the Aidensfield arms yet :D
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Buffet car now GN Observation car (toooooooo many coaches they were being shunted by the O8 at the time of pics)

BR Vent ? no idea either way (surprised the LNERCA had left it fitted) hopefully the rest of that roof is original layout ?

When we restored the Buffet Car back in the 1980's we reverted the roof vents back to original spec (including the large vents over the bar area which were modified from BR ones). However in LNER days the kitchen did not have full cooking facilities so did not have a large vent there. As 641 has a cooker in it and requires good ventilation we decided to leave the BR spinning cowl in place over the fan.

I know I regret it every time I walk over the footbridge and see it below! :)
