Re: FLYING SCOTSMAN PREMIUM BITTER
If this is the correct slot in the forum for discussion of Railfest (as opposed to a massive digression onto the subject of the Olympics, life, the universe and everything, which ought not to be repeated here), then my comment is that I'm eager to firstly see a MUCH more detailed programme than appears to be published on the NRM website. Just WHAT / WHO for instance will be present in the "marketplace" or whatever they are calling the "special event pre-hiked rip-off prices" (sorry, I mean trade) area? Bear in mind that this is York, so basic everyday prices for most things are already raised to "we saw you coming" tourist levels.

Re: FLYING SCOTSMAN PREMIUM BITTER
Theres a public house situated at the bottom of the Caledonian road and Pentonville road near to Kings Cross station called THE FLYING SCOTSMAN since the 1980s (prior to the 1980s during the 1970s it was called THE SCOTTISH STORES).
On a visit several years ago (purely in the interest of research) i noticed that the pub boasted a 'female floor show' and may still do??.
Probably a place of slightly dubious character although possibly ok to take the girlfriend for a laugh but not the wife and NOT both at the sametime.

A local pub of mine... the Sun at Lemsford (near Welwyn Garden City) serves Flying Scotsman on draught, really nice pint similar to Caledonians 80/- .... Sampled it during a St Georges Day dinner on the 22nd
