Re decals

I remove top layer very gently with a 10a Swann Morton blade. The rest is removed with Tcut and a cocktail stick, this gives you a shiny surface to lay the new decals onto as well.

Thinners sounds very dodgy likely to lift paint as well as the numbers. it may attack the plastic as well IMHO

Ah yes! You did say you were going to put a single chimney on it. Completely forgot, and the finished article fooled me too.

Hi Mick, excellent work there! Did you do a complete renumbering for 4463 or did you just replace the 8?

Letters and numbers were all changed as Hornby Gold is different to the HMRS version .

After the saga with HMRS recently, I have now managed to obtain a couple of correct inline sheets for future projects.
I bought the expensive Fox version, which I have given up on as the white section is much too wide (as are their LNER lining sheets).

Just been catching up on your thread, the J94 looks very nice with proper LNER lamps too. Sparrow Hawk is another good recovery they are nasty those buffers it happened to one of my A4s when it ran into the back of its own train (:s)

Shown with a Bachmann K3 Tender I will use this or a Step Sided K3 Tender if I can find one. I will have to add pickups to the tender as the loco only picks up on one set of drivers due to traction tyres on one set,

Nice models Mick. The D49 seems to be the model of the moment to convert, I've got mine to do in the winter.

Silver Fox was a ebay pick up with damaged paintwork and other damage inc another one with missing bufferbeam.
It has been of very good use
Cab now Wolf of Badenoch and Chimney to Sparrow Hawk .


D49 are cheap and a bargain as long as you can find the bits to give the much needed detail.
