Thought I'd stick a few pictures of my own in here, what with it being LNER models and all. Photographs taken on an 8Mp camera phone, so apologies in advance for the quality. I may redo them on a darker day so as not to get the glare through the window as much. Enjoy. Photos removed and put in my own thread.

Looks a nice atlantic for a K's kit. The W1 is attractive too, whether or not every detail of cab and firebox shape or the "shade of grey" are correct.

My dad built most of the Hush-Hush. My only input was the electrics underneath and the shaping of the cab - taken from the Isinglass drawing and the pictures. Colour is taken from the model in North Road station museum, my mum vetted that (her eyes are miles better for picking up colour variations than either of ours).

The thing I forgot when I proclaimed the Southeastern Finecast kit as being inaccurate, is that the modeller can do a lot of work with the kit to make it be what they want it to be. The model will be their representation of the prototype, and this is true of any model, regardless of whether it is made from a kit, scratchbuilt or ready-to-run. We, the modellers, are at liberty to put as much, or as little effort into our creations as we like.

Not a problem too me.

However its much easier if the relevant subject has its own thread e.g W1 , as its much easier for people when searching for details.

From a Kingfisher Mick? Just about to tackle two myself. Any advice RE removing the cabside numbers - I currently use nail varnish remover and a cocktail stick religiously, but am finding it rather more difficult with the printed gold/red numerals

I use Brasso on a cotton bud. Any markings you may want to retain, mask up.
