Another oldie from the archives; 60034 in early BR days. Is the photo taken at Newcastle by any chance?

Heading south out of Newcastle with road set for King Edward Bridge.
60034 carried a corridor tender which differed from the norm by the end plate being squared off at the top as opposed to the usual curved top edge. If the photograph had included the whole of the tender, this would have been readily visible. I never found out why the tender on 60034 differed in this way, perhaps some more knowledgeable expert can enlighten me.

The three A4's used in the 1948 Locomotive Exchange Trials all had their Tenders cut down at the rear of the sides and sides of the back but NOT the actual Corridor Connection. This was due to the watering facilities at Euston Station.
Tender 5323 was attached to 60022 at the time but later went to 60029.
Tender 5325 was attached to 60033 at the time but later went to 60034.
Tender 5332 was attached to 60034 at the time but later went to 60033.This is now behind 4772/60103 as a Water Tender.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

I didn't realise 4472 still had a water tender - I thought it went to Bittern?

Ah, quoting Merl on the 60007 Society and possibly (PROBABLY) stand corrected.

Thanks for that. It was a bit early for me. :D :D
