The following is the best I can do on Butler Henderson. Hope it shows the detail you want.

Superb bunch of photos all round. I'm in general agreement with the views on the shades of blue on Bittern and Mallard, but here's another quick observation. The green on Butler Henderson and Tornado look a bit similar to me. Anyone else?

Yes, this is LNER heaven.

The A4s certainly steal the show and it's always a pleasure to see 4468 outdoors!

G'Day Gents

I've noticed from the list on page 1 the C1 and the J17 are attending, I can see the C1 in the same pic as the N2, any chance of the J17, and is she on anyone's list for a rebuild to working order ??? Thanks.

Thanks very much, I can't wait to see Green Arrow today :D

Thinking about it, I haven't seen 60532 for 11 years, and I haven't seen 506 for 7 years.

Edit: I am the only person slightly annoyed that 4771's (and presumably 4468's) coupling rods have been left off?

Went back to Barrow Hill for day 2.

My son had a better offer so didn't join me, but could I even give my spare £19 ticket away? Unbelievable! The chap a couple behind me in the queue told me his wife and daughter couldn't go either and he failed to get rid of his tickets too! What is the matter with people? Do they have so much cash they can miss an opportunity like that? I accept that people want to support places like Barrow Hill, but they could have saved on their tickets and made a donation or purchased something else! Unreal.

Anyway, sadly the weather was rubbish today - very overcast, rain showers and much colder than yesterday. The event lacked imagination too. With 3 of the star locos static - Mallard, Blue Peter and Green Arrow, the 4th loco in the line up alternated between Bittern and Tornado, with the K4, N2, J72, J94, Y7 and Berkeley hauling short coach trips.

The Atlantic 251 just stayed inside on the turntable when it would have looked nice posed next to the N2, also in GNR livery. Nothing was made of the roundhouse setting at all really. On previous visits locos were moved in and out occasionally and posed on the turntable.

Outside, the 2 far sidings containing static coaches could have been used to pose other locos not in steam, with the running line between locos 4 and 6, thus achieving a maximum of 7 in a line.

Oh well! I'm still very grateful to have had the opportunity!
