Mike or anyone else
What does the roof layout actually look like?
Too many pipes etc etc, a simple drawing of the roof pipes will sum it up nicely please !!

Ha ha got you, never mind it won't be a race it will take me a couple of weeks Mike to complete. I will send it to you for comment (or a larf).

I might have the 1928 arrangement ready in a few days. Unfortunately I need that to then do the later variation.Dave wrote:Ha ha got you, never mind it won't be a race it will take me a couple of weeks Mike to complete. I will send it to you for comment (or a larf).
Re: FURTHER D10C RESTAURANT CAR QUESTION
As promised 1928 roof layout attached. Print with no scaling for 4mm scale.
Edited 9/4/2012 to remove attachment. Drawing has been superceded by later post which shows both roofs.

Re: FURTHER D10C RESTAURANT CAR QUESTION
Now I wonder why the cistern vent is like that? It looks to me like the cistern is mounted in a fairly standard location, so why the long pipe rather than the more usual hook vent?

Re: FURTHER D10C RESTAURANT CAR QUESTION
The only reason I can think of is to maximise the height of the vent outlet, but I agree it is not obvious. The end nearest the centre of the roof is fashioned into a form of hook as well but not obvious from the plan.sawdust wrote:Now I wonder why the cistern vent is like that?
