Evening all

This must be one of the strangest Tour titles since the return to steam.

Just found these photos i took in June 1984 of 4498 Sir Nigel Gresley hauling ‘Clitheroe Parish Church The Clitheronian’

Anyone know of any stranger ones?

One question though, why is there sheeting / netting over the tender?

why is there sheeting / netting over the tender?
Where are you seeing that? It looks to me as if the coal space backplate is in primer.

My dad might well have been on that run - I'll see if he remembers.

Absolutely right. Primer on the coal space backplate. '98 had just completed a general overhaul at Carnforth and this was the first job, Blackburn to York via Manchester and Leeds and a real scorcher of a day. Happy days indeed.
