Blackout, how observant of you, I wondered if anyone would pick that up !! http://www.railpage.com.au/f-p1588752.htm now if you look at the pics here, some of them give you a good view of the front, I'll post a few of mine later, when I can get to my pics.

These 620 class Pacific's were put into service 1936/38 and the drawings probably reflected Sir Nigel's, wonderful P2's, of the same time, when the first went into service they had no smoke deflectors (as in the video) but later had them fitted, probably for the same reason Earl Marischal, had hers fitted.

As an aside all of the steamranger locos 520, 621, Rx's, F and diesles are broad gauge they used to run all around the Adelaide area (I used to see them run past my high school most weeks) along with the 2 900 class diesles that have now been sold. However the conversion of the Adelaide-Melbourne line to standard guage now holds them captive between Mt. Barker and Victor Harbour.

If anyone ever holidays in this part of the world we have two main preserved railways in South Australia.

Steam Ranger Mt Baker-Victor Harbour Broad Gauge 5' 3" (about 70km -140km return)

There is a line drawing in the back of RCTS, LNER volume 2A, that has a drawing of a proposed A4 Pacific - dated 1934, it has the P2 outer casing and overall styling. This rather attractive Australian locomotive has a startling resemblance to that drawing. Coincidence of course, but the overall look of this engine gives a very good indication of "what could have been" with the A4 Pacifics.
