Encyclopedia Problems?
Ay up!
Has the encyclopedia section been migrated yet? I seem unable to access it.

Re: Encyclopedia Problems?
I see that, visibly at least, 'we' (the forums') are fully back after presumed completion of the planned migration.
Well done indeed Richard!

Re: Encyclopedia Problems?
The Encyclopedia part is up and running, I think it is just the link from forum page that is not.
Thank you for all your efforts with the "migration" Richard, it is much appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Encyclopedia Problems?
The forum software has been bumped from 3.2 to 3.10 - this will account for things like smilies changing. The backend also has some new options.
I'm about to look at the header - it looks like it is missing the hyperlink as well having some dodgy shading.
And I see a smiley icon doesn't appear - that should be fixable.
(currently there are three copies of the forum software and four copies of the database online - good thing the account is a lot larger!, but it means I can go back and copy bits if necessary)

Re: Encyclopedia Problems?
Smileys should all be present and correct.
Strangely, some of the smileys were not included in the new version. Also, those that were included were formatted slightly differently. I suspect they cut the standard smileys down a little, but the upgrade remembered the text definitions. So the third or so that didn't have images appeared using their text definitions.
There wasn't much in it regarding the image styles, so rather than have a mismatch; I simply copied the old ones over - overwriting the new ones and filling in all the gaps.
Some people go overboard with custom smileys, but I don't really see the point.

Re: Encyclopedia Problems?
obviously
the problems were due a major hardware failure at Pair - it wasn't just lner.info or my other sites, but quite a few other customers.
Had me worried for a short while because earlier today I gave them the go-ahead to delete the old account...
