Merry Christmas to all.
Re: Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas Colleagues,
It’s not too hot a day in Sunny Queensland, so we should be OK for our Christmas roast dinner which is only a few hours away.
Let us know what Santa brought you all.
Cheers and beers to you all.
Regards
Steve

Merry Christmas everyone.
I am in charge of the dinner in our household, so fingers crossed.
I know Santa has brought me the 2nd volume of Peter Coster's book of the Great Northern so I am happy already.

Re: Merry Christmas!!!
Ay up!
I've wanted this for 40 years now and I've finally got it! A full 9-coach Coronation Scot rake to go behind my blue Duchess! Guess what I'll be taking to the Boxing Day running session at the Club?!?
There's also a rake of 4 Triang Thompsons (2 brakes and 2 all thirds) plus 2 old Hornby Gresleys so, once the Thompsons have been through Penn Works for interiors, flush glazing and Gresley bogies, they'll look the part behind 4470. Summat for next year methinks? Or is it?
Aaaaaagh - a choice! Pass the single malt!

Re: Merry Christmas!!!
You mean the Arlington Cowgirls (as I've heard them called!)?
Two years ago they demolished the "Texas Stadium" and moved to a new stadium that whilst under construction it looked very much like the DeathStar in "Return of the Jedi". The new stadium is in Arlington - very close to where the Texas Rangers play. Not only is it not in Dallas City, but it isn't even in Dallas County!
The old stadium site is now flattened and has a nice green grassy area - would make a large bowling green or a good cricket pitch! What were the parking areas are currently used by TxDot as a staging post for a lot of the freeway rebuilding going on at the moment. Apparently Irving are making more from TxDot leasing the land than they ever got from Jerry Jones and the Cowboys! It will eventually be redeveloped, but we're talking about 2020 or so before that is done.
There is a railway connection: the new DART (light rail) extension skirts along the site is one of the reasons for the freeway rebuilding to be so involved. This will partially open this summer, and will eventually open all the way to DFW airport.
