I shall try to oblige in the new year chaps but I do have a rather scarily sized 'round tuit' pile!

Oh, that's very good. More, more!

I am lucky enough to have two screens on my PC so I have it re-running continuously. Sad man!

Where's the soundtrack from? Available online?

Most kind BB

Well...I made a Christmas Purchase on ebay today...odd thing today I know, but have bought a Hornby Rolling Road, alot easier for testing locos than using a 9V battery. Should also prove a little easier for weathering the wheels.

Also thought might be a way of showcasing locos on youtube! ;)

Hi Tom,

Hope you had a good Christmas? A rolling Road is very handy for running in Locos.
The video looks good too. Look forward to the Leaman Rd shed developments.

Have a blessed new year too.

Thankyou Mark! :)

I do feel that rolling road could possibly be the best £50 I've spent in quite a while!

Regarding 50A it looks like later this next year I might be replacing my scenecraft shed for something more individual.

More on that in the in 2012. ;)

Meanwhile I have my other blue A1 to work on! :D

My problem now is trying to find a suitable member of the class for her to be. As has been discussed in the Hornby B1 thread, there are many rivet variations, tender differences and the like. I am a bit of a rivet counter I suppose  so I'd like to get a close as match as possible.

Thanks to great northern, I now know that North British built B1s (which this loco is) were built with flush head rivets, so as my model depicts there is no visible sign of any, but smokebox changes were common during works...so a NB loco after a few years could end up with snap head rivets on it's smokebox......sigh......

So I'm now looking like mad for photos. Found a picture of a couple of York B1s...but they appear to have electric lighting, which this donor model doesn't have. I will admit I'm looking forward to seeing the different variations on the B1s we are going to see over the coming years from Hornby.

It does appear B1s are a bit of a minefield....but isn't part of the fun this kind of research?........probably best that question isn't answered!

So if anyone can help regarding a 1950/51 photo of a York B1 that fits the donor model seen above.......answers on a post card! :P
You know Dave Bradwell does electric lights and (I think) generators from his K1/B1 kits as spares?

Afternoon all

I haven't updated for a while, but seen as we have an operational layout now, I thought it was about time.

Tim79 has been up 3 times since February, he devised a new track plan, and last week he spent most time underneath the baseboards wiring. It all paid off mind, as the DCC layout is fully operational.

Of course things a far from finished, the fiddle yard is to be altered after I was inspired by Haymarket Cross's set up with a Fleischmann Turntable with the roads off it as loco storage. Leaman Road will work on the same basis (I won a Fleischmann Turntable last week on ebay brand new and about £150 under the retail price!)

Enough talking, here are the photos :)

I was talking to modeller James Wells and his Dad at York Model Show couple of weeks back. His Dad was saying that although the L1s were mainly used on the Hornsea and Withernsea services, one appearing at York working on the Hull, Market Weighton, York service could happen...so that gave me an excuse for rebranding my L1 from 67777 to 67766.
