This charts the planned last days of most remaining ex LNER (and older) signal boxes. Probably a good idea to get out there with the camera

We will have to see how accurate this plan is.
Subject to a lot of finance for a start.

Looks like the axe for the last remaining pre grouping signalbox on the ECML Alnmouth.
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

does the closure of boxes include level crossing boxes, ie blaydon.???

You have to remember this is Network Rails "Vision" for the future and is not set in stone. Where they will get the money from to do it is the big question. This is their latest fad of the moment, but anybody who knows how NR works will know this will probably change.

Some of them came to be [e.g., no doubt part of the plan;- London Bridge, "Victoria"(Clapham Jn,), Dartford, Wimbledon(?), Eastleigh(?) ]. But many never happened, either at all, or in the planned form, I think.
