She's looking a bit dusty....... would I be right in assuming that she was at the NYMR LNER gala in 2008?

You might be thinking of the Q6? The Q7 was in steam at the NYMR in the late 90s but her certificate would have expired about around 2000 or so. As did the Q6's, but the NELPG got her going again.

it is shocking , cosidering people pay money to see these exibits, only a few miles down the line its free admision to Shildon museum. Even if the loco is not in working order it should be kept clean-afer all its under cover.

The Darlington Museum is city owned and hence under funded. Higher taxes, higher entrance fees, or more volunteers are required.

At least Darlington still has its museum - I never got to see the Leeds Museum before it was turned into a series of visiting schools exhibits!

I personally prefer Darlington museum - interesting displays and information boards for the exhibits - on my last visit to Shildon very few items had display boards so even I was clueless as to what some exhibits were, or any idea of their history
