Another A2/2 Lord President is on the workbench.

I will post some pictures not covered in the build of The Wolf.

A4 Cab mated to A2 body using the original A2 footplate to ensure all mates correctly. Photo after being left overnight for plastic cement to cure. The cab was held in place with masking tape during the cure. Gaps between cab and boiler in picture have now been filled with microstrip pieces prior to rubbing down and smoothing in due course .

Tender body repainted to LNER Apple Green. Other pictures below show how I have adapted the Hornby chassis so that the Bachmann tender connector can still be used. Microstrip and a 8BA Bolt nut and washers have produced a nice strong connecting pin.
There is no need for the Hornby tender connector ,as loco runs fine with the Loco pick ups only, as supplied by Bachmann.

Actually, I meant to say that I've been going back through your thread Mick, and Helensdale provides a superb backdrop for your models. It's full of interest and looks so life-like. I'm sure that if you half-close your eyes and come down to baseboard level, you could almost be there!

I'd be really interested to know the dimensions of the layout and see a track plan if you have one in a suitable format?

I'm going to pluck up the courage to order parts from Graeme next pay cheque, my only concern is how I get a hold of a decent A4 cab and the tender body. Is the A2 tender body suitable, albeit with the rivets removed? Or is there an easier way?

I am not aware of any retail stockists of the current high detail Hornby or Bachmann bodies/tenders.

I personally prefer the Hornby version as its already the streamlined version and is a excellent model in its own right.
The A2 is one the another non corridor versions, at a minimum you would have to remove all the rivets and build the front up.

Nowhere as big as I would like its 10ft x 8ft . I will post a trackplan in due course
