I remember watching an episode of QI where Stephen Fry (apt name!) said that he has seen some chippies selling a deep fried Doner Kebab...

There used to be apub at the bottom of Salter Hebble near Halifax that did something similar. 36oz of prime steak with chips or roasties (or half 'n' half) plus two small portions of veg and, if you finished it, you got it for free. I got forcibly ejected from said hostelry after not only finishing my meal but asking for second helpings!
The pub isn't there now, Clearly one runaway lorry with failed brakes too many piled into the front. Its a vacant plot.
