What livery did the D11s carry in the pre war LNER period?

Theoretically, lined black after 1929, lined green before 1928. I've seen suggestions that some were not lined in the black period. Whether the latter stems from accurate and reliable first-hand reports of those days, from poor obeservation of dirty locos, or from misinterpretation of monochrome photos of the locos (in which red may not register as distinct from black) I cannot say.

So its safe to say I need to do a complete repaint of a BR black liveried D11 I've bought to represent mid 20s livery. This is going to be fun......
