Cor - its just like Christmas!

Post by Blink Bonny »

Ay up!

Three parcels arrived for me today. Three in one day! Such heresy? Flog the man! No, on second thoughts, he'd enjoy it too much!

Anyway, they contained a GC tender top box from Atlantic and two fleabay purchases. A Triang cemflo (not a scale model I know but I love 'em and am now 33% of the way towards a rake of 12!) and a book - Thompson and Peppercorn locomotive engineers.

I've read the book but can't set the ol' trainset up in the garden to play with new cement wagon 'cos the rains have come. Ah, well - looks like I'll make a start on the O4. Pass the cutters!

(pant) (gasp)

Well, that's the wallet resussed! Manna, are you a Yorkshireman by any chance? You seem to know a lot about us.

That's why 20p pieces are shaped like they are. So you can get a spanner on 'em and get change out of a Yorkshireman!

Incidentally, the nerdbox is working OK, so far. It won't last.....

G'Day Gents

No, I'm a Londoner, but I had family in Richmond (Yorkshire)for many years, and I lived in Normanton for three and a half years I was a guard at Leeds, before I came to Australia, so I picked up a few bits and pieces from the locals :?

Ay up!

Well, Bill Owen (Compo from Summer Wine) was a Londoner who was adopted by God's Own County! Sadly, the other Cockney famous for Northern accents, Stanley Holloway, preferred t'other side. Ah, well. Can't have 'em all, eh?

The prognosis for the wallet is looking good. It's having counselling at the moment in the hope that it stops snapping at me whenever I come near...

G'Day Gents

BB, I think the only way to bring it round is to tuck 5 and 10 pound notes under it, after sedating it with a bag of 50p's dropped from about 5 feet

Hi BB

Certainly a wallet from the North Midlands (Yorkshire) then!! Still, at least it's a wallet - the Scots have that purse thing dangling down the front of their skirts. (How to upset hundreds of people in only two sentences!!)

Ey up, PP.

My wallet is growling at me from a corner of the room. A Tri-ang Conflat (with three cement containers) has just expired on the doormat.

North Midlands? Surely tha means Darbyshire, not Yorkshire. Tha needs a passport to get in 'ere. And a veesam whatever they are!

Hi BB

No, Yorkshire's in the Midlands!!

As a relocated Geordie I maintain that you're not near the North till you cross the river Tees. A friend of mine from Leeds always gets upset when I say this - but it's true!!

All the best
