Was that the crash that injured Wordsell and killed one of his friends. Ive not seen an official report. What locos were shoving?
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

Yes it it is that crash.
This is one of the few railway accidents for which no Board of Trade report survives or exists.
Train engine numbers are 852 and 1505 but plough numbers are still to be determined.
Possible candidates are 1, 2, 3, or 6.All being built in 1887 / 8
2 however is my choice for being the plough involved.
Shows how strongly built the Snowploughs are though.

It certainly does.....
However, despite the sad results in terms of injuries, I'll bet the breakdown teams had a few words to say when they saw what they had to sort out ! the 'official' explanations would have been interesting, to say the least.....
