Love the B&W pics. Tell the driver of Cicero to keep his head down at Goswick, the beastly hun have machine gunned the station and the Flying Scotsman(train not loco).
Hi interested in the area served by 52D. also researching colliery wagonways from same area.

I've been doing some work on my old tender drive Scotsman, including a full repaint to NE wartime black. Does anyone know where I'd be able to get transfers for the new numbers and a double chimney?

HMRS do all the transfers you're ever likely to need for this one.

As regards the double chimney, I've got one from a Crownline V2 around the place which you can have with my compliments.

Drop me a PM with your address, blackout60800.

Not aware of any A3 with a double chimney until 1958/59 other than Humourist.

Mick b, I'm modelling Scotsman in preserved condition (NE wartime black, double chimney, no deflectors, number 502), but without the crack in the frames :D

Ah, go on blackout, you know you want to! Then 502 can be sat on a siding in bits just like the real thing!

Rather ironically Blink Bonny, she has been sat in bits on a siding! I've only just put her back together to gauge where the outward modifications need to be, like the 'banjo dome' as i've realised my Scotsman is an A1! so i'm gonna have to remove and rebuild the outer steam pipe which at present is on the wrong side for an A3 :?
Any other things I might need to change?, oh and for some strange reason which I can't get my head round, there aren't any copper contacts on the loco chassis (I don't recall removing any either) although she has ran before and she dosen't run now. I've ran her through on the voltmeter or ammeter (don't ask me :? ) which ever it is (pickup is on the six 'driving' wheels) and one one wheel contacts throught it's entire circumference, one has no pick up and the other four have distinct dead zones. Any suggestions?
