I'm intending to build a Scale7 layout based on The H & BR in the South Yorkshire area c1910 and am appealing for any information on it's trackwork. Does anyone out there have any information on what constituted a standard track panel length at that time, what sleeper spacings were utilised and what type of chairs were used and how many bolts were used to retain them. Also any information on the type of turnouts that were used. I presume they would have been loose heel switches, if so what switch blade lengths were in common use.
I realise this is a long shot but if anyone can provide answers or point me in the direction of a suitable source I would be most grateful.
