Mrs BB says: Yuck! It's almost obscene.

Re: Hong Kong's latest
To be honest, it looks ghastly to my eyes.
A topper is proper if the train's a non-stopper!
Re: Hong Kong's latest
The Chinese railways have just had a BIG BANG UP i believe due to there signalling system?
Wots the betting that this british government buys the same Chinese signalling system?
You just know it

The seating looks nice and comfy, but the design of the engine is, to be blunt, fugly. All in the eye of the beholder, I suppose.

Re: Hong Kong's latest
Is it a Hong Kong/Chineese HST? it looks like a Japanese E5 Series Shinkansen to me in JR colours. A photo you post showing it in the station with the chap saluting it, has an advert for Japanese railways (JR) to the side of him.

I noticed it looked Japanese but the e mail enclosures stated Hong Kong.

The third picture - of the cab - the windows remind me of 'monster's eyes' in a cartoon...

Not bad, but not as nice as the JR's Shinkansen trains.
Still doesn't beat the old GWR streamliner in fugly.
