Top Gear - upcoming episode - 17/07/2011?

Post by 65447 »

Word is that the Top Gear team has finished its 10 day occupation of the GC at Loughborough, the film crew has departed and the helicopters flown away. Allegedly this episode is to be broadcast on the above date, and confirms how those guys hate caravans.

Have seen this mentioned in of all places zoo magazine! From the photo provided in the artical it appears they have placed a car on the track pulling a couple of caravans with second and third class spray painted on the sides. Don't know what they're upto exactly though
I'll be watching the episode to find out, should be interesting.
Interested in the NBR,LNER and shale works railways of central Scotland.

I saw a picture of Clarkson about a year ago standing beside TORNADO after having fired the loco wearing a blue overall boiler suit and his face ''black as the ace of spades'' and just the ''whites of his eyes'' showing nodoubt for tv effect only? :?

Back in the 'real' steam days granted firemen would get abit dirty but typical of television today they have to go way OTT to get a 'good' effect

A lot of steam loco driver's use to keep themselves very clean & smart on the footplate they didn't sit on the footplate with a face as BLACK AS THE ACE OF SPADES in coal dust?

No doubt they will be belittling something british. Makes me laugh that they love anything german, yet clarkson gets all patriotic at the drop of the hat.......

Gotta love irony. ;)

Wonder how he'd react if anyone told him who built Tornado's boiler.

Tonight's the night! Glimpses of the 'stunts' have appeared in the trailers during the week; it strikes me that if all caravans went by rail the summer 6 months on the road would be a lot less stress and hassle...

Ordinary people who break the law are criminals.

Those who think they are better than us 'ordinary folk' are scoundrels.

Come the revolution.......!!

G'Day Gents

You could always tie a few together, weight them down with a couple of 'Law' books ( that they use against us) and push them in the Thames, Gets rid of the 'Pollys' gets rid of the Law books and the river tidies up the mess !!!

SIMPLE 8)

Errr - water pollution? Would you care to eat fish caught in that river? I know I live in the shadow of Ilkley Moor, which has a well-known ditty about life, death and the food chain, but let's not examine biology too closely at meal times...

I have to second Manna's comment about the weight of law books, as someone who studied law (in the naive hope I could make an honest living from it), I can testify that law tomes come second only to concrete blocks in weight and use as doorstops, weights and propping up broken tables/liquor cabinets. Given their resale value, that's about the best use for secondhand copies...

Your comments about law books and studying law reminds me of the onetime heard saying that-

''You had to be a lawyer to understand a British Rail rule book?''

To be honest Network Rail rule books ain't that much better?

I remember hearing a story once many years ago back in the 1980s that a lawyer of the bar sat down and went right through a B.R. rule book and came to the conclusion that it was full of contradictions from start to finish thats the parts of the rule book that made any sense that is?

G'Day Gents

The Top Gear episode made on the GC has been shown in Oz, enjoyed it but I don't think this train thing will catch on

Re, the Rule book, we knew it was a means of covering there A***, and giving them someone to blame for not knowing the rule book, and even if you did know the rule book, you didn't understand it, and if you can't understand it, how can you do it right, is that the definition of a rule book !!
