My questioning of Hackney Wick had very little to do with its elevation above or below sea level, but was more inclined to be a reference to whether the NLL actually formed part of the Tube network?

Anyhows my mother often came home with a high barnet as I recall, but on breezy days would be far happier with a.....

Ahaaaa . . . that's local knowledge for you. Looking at a tube map (that's as close as I can get these days) I was wrongly assuming that the NLL was an overground underground, if you get my drift.

So now, with Mr. Berrie's apparent fear of depths (there must be one of those 'phobia' suffixes for that), and the recent rash of above-ground locations popping up on here, I must refer to one of the old haunts of Spike Milligna, the well-known typing error, and plump for EAST FINCHLEY.

Well, Hackney Wick might not be in Tube, but it certainly is only served by the Overground of the UndergrounD these days ; which also forms half of HIGHBURY & ISLINGTON.

It is now, Giner, they call the passenger services LOROL and it's part of Transport for London. Nothing to do with RTs in Stevenage, you understand, that was London Transport.
