Re: LNER Models
Next project on the way. A retro of the US Tour Scotsman to create a BR numbered A3 - the tender will go to Flying Fox, suitably modified, and its GN tender to the A3.
I was lucky to pick up a slightly damaged A3 to deal with this.
I now have a spare 2nd 4472 tender and a Devon Belle observation car, although I think it ran in Scotland with the Devon Belle just painted out but later went into BR maroon.
As 60100 Spearmint had a GN tender at this time I think that is the likely loco.

Re: LNER Models
Spearmint nameplates arrived today along with donor loco. I've removed all the US fittings and the speedometer cable but the latest version has the plug in type tender so I've had to swop tender underframes to get the GN tender body to suit 60100 in the period I'm modelling. Just got to remove the crests on the loco and LNER on the tender and out with the Pressfix!
60100 got a non corridor tender (1928 pattern) in 1952 when it was painted brunswick green, but from 1950 it was blue.
Anybody want a spare 2nd tender for 4472?

Here she is 60100 in 1948 condition.
Re: LNER Models
Since my last post I have been changing the track layout and adding some new buildings to my layout Helensdale. The Coal drop is based on the one at Blyth and I have doubled the Engine Shed to Four roads. The area in front of the Engine Shed awaits scenic treatment.

Re: LNER Models
Apple Green rules! What are all the locos and what is their parentage?
Re: LNER Models
And very nice it all looks too. That really is a bold appearance all that apple green, I do agree with the earlier posters it certainly does rule.
Thanks
Simon
Thanks
Simon
don't forget about the Great Eastern Railway
Re: LNER Models
A road down by the side of the shed would be handy for demics awaiting removal to main works or a breakdown train. The latter is always a good excuse for building an elderly carriage!
Re: LNER Models
Coach
I you are refering to the rear of the Coal Stage ? Yes there is one, in use as a coach siding giving much needed storage. If its the side of the engine shed sadly I have run out of space
Re Locos
All the Apple Green are Hornby.
Three are renames of Great Northern version.
Flying Fox just etched nameplates and works plates
Remainder are makeovers of the NRM A3 version all were damaged and ebay bargains
All are in pictures from earlier posts
thanks for comments

Re: LNER Models
I can see that I am not the only person who repatriates sick locos from ebay and gives them a new lease of life.
