Those locos would be primarily on the Summer holiday traffic to Skegness and Mablethorpe and a few went to Yarmouth and Lowestoft that way once the M&GN closed.rob237 wrote: The Nottm-Boston traffic, via Barkston, perhaps provided less variety than you would think...

Freight trains had a varied selection of WD, 9F, O1 and O4 (plus the reports of 8Fs and the LNW 0-8-0 that have been discovered) with the occasional Ivatt 4MT on both freight and passenger.
These would be mainly Colwick locos, with the occasional interloper from Annesley and Toton.
The Immingham Brits were allocated there to work Cleethorpes services, and therefore used the East Lincs line from Peterborough; likewise the March Brits seemed to be used mainly on the York-Yarmouth and the Harwich boat trains, so neither had much of a chance to reach Grantham on their normal rosters.
As I mentioned earlier, 1959 correspondents were more concerned with modern traction so I have included ones that were new deliveries and must have passed Grantham.
