B1 no 61156

Post by boeing757 »

Good morning,

Can anyone out there either post a photo of 61156 or even better a few of her, or provide a link to a site featuring her.
Many thanks,

B

Thank you Boris,
I am going to build a model of this loco so I'm principally concerned with getting the details right. Considering she hauled the last steam operated train into Liverpool St she seems very camera shy.

Transport Treasury Ian C Allen photos E896 and E3487.

The former being an on shed view, so presumably fairly full frame.

Thank you 60022Mallard for the pointer. On checking both photos are front right aspect so I'm still searching for left side and rear detail.
Any more images out there?

Saw this question and registered so I could give some vague help!

Perhaps not the perfect photo for your purposes but there is a wonderful one of 61156 on the front cover of The Fallowfield Line by E.M. Johnson published by Foxline and dated March 24th 1951.

Modelling part of that line myself, the only reason 61156 jumped out at me!

Hi 2107,

Thanks for the pointer. Have found the book on line, should be on its way here soon.

Here is a picture of B1 61156 at Liverpool St on 9.9.62 with the last steam train into that terminus.

Ah, I knew I had read somewhere that 61156 worked the last steam hauled train into Liverpool Street. Thank you for posting. Lovely photo of what I have always thought a lovely engine.
