V2 Plate

Post by x568wcn »

In the Railway Museum today I found a V2 plate (and 2 A4s and 1 A3)

Anyway it is the Kings Own Yorkshire Light infantry

It's dark Green, although you can't tell too well!

Isn't the BR Green Deltic that's currently in the Main Hall, also King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry?

You are so right, although acording to the Museum's site it is at Barrow Hill Shed, but it still says Scotsman is at Tysley, and it's been back 2 weeks tomorrow!

I was thinking they had a much slower rotation than they clearly have. KOYLI (the Deltic) was in the Main Hall when I was there in August. In the middle somewhere :-)

The Stirling Single was on the turntable - now occupied by Flying Scotsman (cf. your excellent photos elsewhere on the forums).

Sorry, on checking today KOLYI is in the main hall although it is BR Blue, just round the turntable, and in fact, the picture I have on my desktop of Scotsman from last week on the turntable has KOLYI behind it

So both our memories failed! :-)

I thought it was BR Green - I must be thinking of the Farish model.

I know my Lima OO model of KOYLI it when I was a kid was in BR Blue...

It doesn't have it's name plates on though, just stuck on versions, one of the real ones is near the V2 plate, and refering to my first message, I found a 3rd A4 plate on Sunday, and V2 4840 Works plate today!
