Stranded Pullman Observation Car

Post by x568wcn »

In Steam Railway Mag, it has a bit on the Pullman Observation Car the Scotsman left behind in the USA, well it's on it's way back in 2 bits, body and chassis. A 500 mile road trip, before shipping to Southampton!

So where is it now?

The north east? Or was it left in California? Flying Scotsman ended up in San Francisco without a return ticket as it were, for a few years...

it started off on January 13th, so it's on the way, it will be going to Derby to be restored, then to Swanage.

April Update: it arrived back on UK soil on Feb 26, and went straight to Rampart Carriage and wagon at Derby, but get this it says it left Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on March 9, which isn't bad, considering it took miuns 9 days to get home!
