Just checked another photo of the north portal and that shows this shot is the correct way round.
The right hand tower is lower and there is a masonry block about level with the crown of the tunnel which is not present in the left hand tower.
Options now are single line working either midweek or more likely on a sunday.

I've just been reading how the team restoring the NER Autocar have received a £465,000 grant from the HLF and I fully agree that a Sentinel railcar would make a great "new build". As for travelling on it....I'd make sure I was upwind of the boiler.

The GWR steam railmotor did a photo-charter at Llangollen yesterday amid beautiful weather and scenery. Ideal for those winter days when visitors are few...Looks like a coach...Puffs like a steam engine......Unfortunately it isn't the LR's railmotor.
